The Story Behind Willful K9

My name is William Diaz, and I am the owner and founder of Willful K9. With over a decade of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, I have dedicated my career to understanding canine behavior and developing practical, results-driven training methods.

My passion for dog training began at the age of 14 with my first dog, Rican, an American Pit Bull Terrier. Rican was highly food-motivated but struggled with leash reactivity, particularly toward other dogs, as well as squirrels, rabbits, and cats. I found it challenging and frustrating to manage his behavior during walks, as he only exhibited this reactivity when on leash and outdoors. This experience sparked my deep interest in canine behavior and set me on the path to becoming a professional dog trainer.
